This is a group devoted to all forms of “Genre Improv.” Whether it’s Improvised Shakespeare or Improvised “Burn Notice,” if you’re in a group that deals with improvising within a specific world and rules, and possibly even the dreaded “p”-word (“plot”), this is for you!

    Hi, all:

    Our troupe is called Impromptu, and we create unscripted improvised plays set during the 1940s-50s, complete with costumes. We specialize in work that pays tribute to great playwrights like Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, William Inge, and others of that era. If you and your group welcome visiting troupes, let us know! We live in Sarasota FL but we’ll travel just about anywhere (except in the Northeast in winter – been there, bought the t-shirt :).
