What venue(s) will be a part of the festival?
DWCF will take place in Hamtramck, MI, at Planet Ant Theatre and Ant Hall from May 30 - June 2, 2019. Hamtramck is a diverse little town almost completely surrounded by the city of Detroit. It's conveniently located right off of I-75, and is approximately 20 miles (26 minutes) from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).

Hamtramck has plenty of nearby and affordable Airbnbs, as well as hotels located in Detroit proper.
What transportation options are available?
Lyft and Uber are super convenient and readily available in the Motor City and surrounding areas. The venues for DWCF are located right across the street from one another,
What dining options are available?
Hamtramck is well-known for it's Polish food, Middle Eastern food, and paczki (delicious filled doughnuts).
Food will be provided to performers in the green rooms on the night of their performance.

What is the range of shows and styles the festival is seeking?
We're looking for forms and shows of all types!
DWCF embraces women (and their allies) from near and far to meet, greet, share and showcase their comedic talents in a welcoming and encouraging environment. The festival focuses on diversity in comedy of all kinds including improv, stand-up, sketch and miscellaneous comedy as well as discussions and workshops.
DWCF is an inclusive event. All genders and identities are invited to perform and attend.
What are the festival's goals?
Diversity makes for funnier, more interesting comedy: that’s why DWCF is open to ALL identities. Inclusivity and representation are vital to a thriving, progressive society; different perspectives offer a comprehensive reflection of our shared experiences and pave the way for more authentic, impactful art — period. Moreover, without an intersectional approach to all art forms, we are limited in our capacity to connect, effect change, and grow as a community. The Detroit Women of Comedy Festival spotlights the work and talent of women in comedy, and is committed to making that spotlight as bright and far-reaching as we can — including our allies and partners!
The Detroit Women of Comedy Festival celebrates and showcases talented female comedians and their allies (regardless of gender or identity) from Detroit, the Midwest, and beyond. Taking place May 20-21 2022 at Planet Ant Theater in Hamtramck, MI, the festival features improv, sketch, stand-up, as well as workshops, jams, open mics, and more.
