Omaha Improv Festival 2017

May 26-29, 2017

About Omaha Improv Festival 2017

Our goal is to bring together improvisers from all over America for a weekend of fun shows, great workshops, and community activities, like a huge grillout Sunday at the park! It's Memorial Weekend, so we strongly encourage staying Sunday night!

We are bringing amazing coaches this year! UCB co-founder Ian Roberts, The Annoyance Co-Founder Joe Bill, HUGE Co-Founder Jill Bernard, and Pam Murphy from UCB and a number of TV shows, plus many great teams from all over!

Last year we had almost 30 teams come visit us, and as we grow, we want to make sure our festival gets better and better for you!

This year we will be hosting the festival during Memorial Weekend, meaning an extra day to stay, do shows, take workshops, and have fun. (All three coaches are staying all 3 nights!) May is also the most beautiful month to be in Omaha, whether you want to go to the #1 zoo in the world, take a walk over the Missouri River, or walk around downtown's Old Market district. And that Sunday, we've rented out a park for having a huge grill-out and games!

We'll have less total workshops this year, allowing you to have more time having fun with your friends, but we'll also be introducing two 4-hour workshops that will end with a featured show at The Backline! This means you can come solo (or with a group) and still get to perform on the main stage!

Individual submissions will will give you first access to the 4-hour workshops that come with a class show held at The Backline.

We strive to have the most fun After Parties. Last year we rented a penthouse suite overlooking downtown Omaha, and this year we will be going to an excellent bar! Wilson & Washburn has great drinks (which you will get at a special price) and a perfect setting for improvisers to have conversations and get to know each other. (There will also be an After-After Party for those who like to party till morning.)

We will also have those cool personalized lanyards/badges for everyone this year too!

Make this experience truly as great as it should be by staying through Sunday night! We want everyone here who wants to have a fun weekend.

We want to be the one festival you go to every year where you can see a whole bunch of your favorite people and discover new friends in the community. This festival is focused around community, celebration, and growth.
