Improv Theatre is the next big thing in live and audience-participatory entertainment experience. Improvisation in the United states has diversified into many forms. Improv is mostly the first step people in the US take before they branch out into television and movies. Back in India, there are 6 known groups that do Improv regularly, 3 of which are in Bangalore. Bangalore already has a burgeoning comedy scene, cemented by the success of the Bangalore Comedy Festival. While its interest in theatre continues to grow, Improv is the best way to combine live entertainment, comedy and theatre.
