Alaska State Improv Festival 2020

April 23-26, 2020

About Alaska State Improv Festival 2020

Now entering its eighth year, the Alaska State Improv Festival (AS IF) has quickly grown into one of the most desirable "boutique" festivals in North America. While we're certain the mountains, the glaciers, and the wildlife have something to do with that, we've also had many visiting performers return to AS IF because of the hospitality!

AS IF is held at McPhetres Hall, a modern theater facility made with locally-milled cedar, in the heart of downtown Juneau, Alaska.

The Alaska State Improv Festival welcomes a wide range of improvisational styles. To learn more about how the festival selects from its submissions, please read The Rubric. http://www.theimprovnetwork.org/the-rubric/

For those of you who have been to AS IF in the past, there will be a few changes:
- AS IF After Dark is going away - all shows will be at McPhetres Hall
- The commercial kitchen at McPhetres Hall will be available
* Our goal is that no one has to choose between catching a show and eating!
* We can make fast food for those without dietary restrictions
* We can keep food in the fridge for those with special dietary needs
- Some of our "ad hoc" day tours will become scheduled activities
- We're shaking up the after-events, too!

Please visit our website at alaskaimprov.com and/or join our performer-only Facebook group "AS IF - For Improvisors" to learn more about the festival or to contact us with any questions you may have.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS - AS IF will be hosting "workshop-to-show" sessions, where a six-hour class will be followed up with stage time during the festival. Workshop registrations will be handled through our website at www.alaskaimprov.com. Keep an eye on our Facebook group "AS IF - For Improvisors" as that is where we will make our workshop announcements.

INSTRUCTORS - A limited number of workshops are solicited from members of ensembles selected for the festival. For these workshops, AS IF provides an honorarium of $100 per instructional hour.

The Alaska State Improv Festival is operated by Morally Improv-erished, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization in good standing based in Juneau, Alaska. Morally Improv-erished, Inc. is dedicated to the production, performance, and instruction of improvisational theater in its many forms.
