We put women+ improvisors where they belong: center stage!
April 30th-May 3rd, 2020 @ The Exit Theatre, Downtown San Francisco!

Femprovisor Fest showcases diverse women+*/feminist improv ensembles, comics, sketch groups, and solo performance artists in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the US. We produce workshops, panels, and shows with innovative artists who are committed to increasing the visibility of women+ in all areas of improvised performance.

This will be our seventh year! This year's theme is “Credit the Source.” This year we will explore ways to credit, acknowledge, honor, and illuminate the contributions of women+ improvisational theatre artists. Femprovisor Fest 2020 honors our past, present, and future. As such, we aim to showcase a large age range of performers in order to reach across and support one another across generations.

Femprovisor Fest accepts submissions from diverse women+/feminist improv ensembles, comics, sketch groups, and performance artists. Improvisation must be a part of the act’s process in some manner. Improvisation could be part of the act’s scripting process, and need not necessarily be a live improvised performance.

If you submit a show/ensemble that includes non-women performers and male allies, we ask that you tell us how your show/ensemble supports the mission of our fest---to increase the visibility of women+ and have an active women+'s presence on the improv stage.

Featured performers of past Femprovisor Fests include Ratas de dos Patas (CHI), DMXX (NYC), Virgin Daiquiri (CHI), Shulie Cowen (LA), Laura Hall (Who’s Line Is It Anyway?), Tara DeFrancisco (CHI), Susan Messing (CHI), Lady Town (LA)- starring Maribeth Monroe (Workaholics, The Good Place), Jaime Moyer, and Kate Duffy.

Local SF/ Bay Area favorites: The Bad Aunties, The Right Now, Tracy Burns, Rachel Hamilton (The Second City) & Kimberly MacLean (BATS Improv), Granny Kart Gangstas (Biddlestiff), and Piano Fight's Chardonnay.

SF improv training centers were represented in all women improv ensembles from BATS Improv, Endgames Improv, Leela, and The Un-Scripted Theatre Company.
