About Omaha Comedy Fest 2020

Previously known as ‘Omaha Improv Fest’

For our 8th year we are expanding to all types of comedy including Improv, Standup, Sketch, Musical Acts, etc.

If you are unfamiliar with us, our main goal is to bring together awesome people in the larger community from all over for a weekend of great shows, learning experiences, and wonderful opportunities to socialize.

One of our most radical changes this year will be in our passes. As always, we want to make sure that if you submit, are accepted, and attend our festival, you can see and participate in some cool shows and events for free. For most of our guests, you'll hopefully notice your overall expenditures going down this year.

Instead of a focus on individual shows and workshops, we're offering all night/weekend passes for either/both special shows and workshops. If you're the type that goes to a lot of both, this alone will save you money. But all of these passes also include one meal provided Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, a video of your performance, a headshot, access to select events and if all that isn't enough, you'll also get a discount at nearby bars and restaurants.

Another major change is our workshops, which many of them will be short 1 hour flash workshops where performers can learn from a larger number of great instructors plus a few longer workshops taught by Dan Antonucci and Brian Jack from Deep Schwa (iO Chicago.)

Former special guests include UCB’s Ian Roberts, Late Show’s Amber Ruffin, Comedy Central’s 3Peat and so many others! The festival will take place on May 21st thru May 24th at both The Backline and Big Canvas.

We work hard every year to make our festival better, and we think you are going to really love the community feel this year! This fest will be during Memorial Weekend, so don’t miss the great lineup we have on Sunday too! (Including our usual grill-out in the afternoon!)
