About Femprovisor Fest 2018

Leela is proud to present, Femprovisor Fest '18!

The bitchin'-est improv fest in the SF Bay. By women, for anyone who likes women. April 26th-April 29th, 2018 @ The Exit Theatre, Downtown San Francisco!

Femprovisor Fest showcases diverse female-identified improv ensembles, comics and sketch groups in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the US. We produce workshops, panels, and shows with innovative artists who are committed to increasing the visibility of women in all areas of improvised performance.

This will be our fifth year! This year's theme is "Put Your Hands Together!" We will be focusing on how we can best lift each other up while celebrating our strengths and unique diversity, ultimately coming together as a diverse women's improv collective.

Featured performers of past Femprovisor Fests include Shulie Cowen (LA), Laura Hall, Tara DeFrancisco (CHI), Susan Messing (CHI), Lady Town (LA)- starring Maribeth Monroe (Workaholics), Jaime Moyer, and Kate Duffy, local favorites: Rachel Hamilton (The Second City) & Kimberly MacLean (BATS Improv), as well as Piano Fight's all ladies sketch group, Chardonnay, and Del Close Award Winners, Walk of Shame (LA). All four SF improv training centers were represented in all women improv ensembles from BATS Improv, Endgames Improv, Leela, and The Un-Scripted Theatre Company. Workshop instructors of years' past include Amy Larimer (NY), Tara DeFranciso (CHI/ Columbus), Laura Hall (LA), Shulie Cowen (LA), Susan Messing (CHI), Jaime Moyer (LA), Kate Duffy (LA), Sunita Deshpande (NYC), Betsaida LeBron (Sacramento), Kaci Beeler and Valerie Ward (Austin), Lauren Morris (Winter Park, FL), Kat Brown & Amy Lisewski (San Diego), and SF/Bay Area locals, Rachel Hamilton, Maurissa Afanador, Allison Page, Chrysteena Lairamore & Jill Eickmann.

Femprovisor Fest accepts submissions from diverse all female-identified improv ensembles, comics, sketch groups, and performance artists. Improvisation must be a part of the act’s process in some manner. Improvisation could be part of the act’s scripting process, and need not necessarily be a live improvised performance.
