About Vintage Improv Festival 2019: Late Submissions
VIF will continue to review solo and troupe submissions on a case by case basis through June 15. Due to popular demand we are considering an additional show each evening which would allow us to invite more acts/improvisers.
Vintage Improv Festival is the world's first and only improv festival where the performers are all at least fifty years old! Last year over 50 seasoned improvisers from across the US and Canada came to Boston for the festival. In one glorious day, seven amazing troupes and three delightfully curated teams of solo improvisers worked, played and performed together! This year VIF expands to 2 1/2 days with even more workshops and more shows! New this year, teams of experienced solo VIP's will have designated directors with specific performance focus, a dedicated 5-6 hour intensive with performance that night
Not all your troupe members are over 50? If at least 75% of your troupe is 50 or over, and your younger members would love being around folks with gray hair for over 48 hours, please go ahead and submit. Join us for VIF...because comedy gets better with age!
Dedicated to the proposition that comedy gets better with age, a Vintage Improv Festival (VIF) is a joyous celebration of the Art of Improvisation featuring improvisers who are at least 50 years old. Through performances and in learning community over one jam-packed weekend, each Festival is designed to support the Vintage community while reaching out to the general public through performance to foster intergenerational appreciation and communication. Sponsored by Vintage Improv Festival, Inc. a nonprofit organization based in the Boston Massachusetts area, the organization is committed to working with other cities to sponsor regional VIF spinoffs in order to meet the needs of a growing and underserved improv demographic.
