About The Bristol Improv Theatre

Welcome to The Bristol Improv Theatre!

The BIT was founded in 2012 by
small group of passionate directors, actors and educators as an
organisation to promote the UK’s growing
improvised theatre scene.

As of May 2016, the BIT is proud to be opening as the UK's 1st-Ever Full-Time Improv Theatre. We are currently crowdfunding the renovation of our theatre space, ahead of a full opening.

Through our seasonal programming,
we support Bristol-made improvised work, host touring improv companies
(like the Olivier Award-winning Showstoppers: The Improvised Musical
) and organise community jams and socials socials. We also have a
growing programme of classes, where people from all walks of life can
start Discovering Improv for the first time, gaining confidence and creative skills, or learn how to use improv for Theatre, comedy or storytelling.
