Let's tell a story: Narrative not Plot

Improv is essentially writing on your feet. But sometimes we get too focused on the wrong thing. Have you ever received the note: "It's not about the things" or "That's too much plot"? Ugh. Bane of my existence and probably many of you too! Ever wish that you could play characters with emotional heart and STILL feel like you are telling a story? This workshop will help you differentiate between Story, Narrative, and Plot. (yes, they are different things.) And then work to keep your cliffnote, trope checking, dénouement, obsessed brains satisfied while bringing relationship to bear. Sound like a tall order? It is, but I will strive to at the very least, to equip you with a bag of tricks I've picked up over the years to help me identify and fight my own best intentioned, improv scene destroying, impulses.
