Making It Count: Presence Over Performance

Really good players are not necessarily mesmerizing performers. They’re people who radiate energy and vision through presence. Presence isn’t magic–it’s a mindset that guides the way you think and act. For a lot of people, performing means thinking hard and being on guard, which compromises their charisma on stage. For people with a strong presence, it means being in a state of flow–where the challenge of the situation meets their communication skills and abilities. They’re ready for anything, welcome to any challenge, and poised to let go, all at the same time. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to hold on to the moment tightly and let go of it lightly, how to inspire yourself and others in almost any situation, and how to invite genuine connection grounded in trust and focus. You’ll leave with new ways to work on your own presence and a fresh perspective that will get you out of your head and into the moment.
