Pioneer of the Chicago Improv and Theater Scene Sheldon Patinkin Leaves Us.

Legendary teacher, writer and performer Sheldon Patinkin passed away yesterday at the age of 79. Among is accolades, he inspired the creation of The Second City where he was involved for over 50 years as an artistic consultant, while also being involved with theaters in Chicago such as the Steppenwolf Theater Company and original member of the Playwrights Theater Club. He also was the chair of the Theater Department of Columbia College.

He influenced many lives of many actors and improvisors over his career. Thank you Sheldon for your commitment and contribution to theater and improv. You will be missed.
