Charm City Comedy Festival

April 30-May 03, 2015

About Charm City Comedy Festival

Charm City Comedy Project is
thrilled to announce our second annual all-comedy festival, taking over
Baltimore again this year. We’ve made some significant changes this
time…changing all venues to the neighborhood of Hampden, adding a new
venue, and splitting up standup and improv to allow for smoother show
transitions and more acts. We’ve also changed our weekend to avoid a
conflict with the Maryland Film Festival.

The Charm City Comedy Festival,
Baltimore’s first festival for improv, standup, and sketch, will take
place from Thursday, April 30th through Sunday, May 3rd, 2015. In our
second year, we’re expanding to include acts from New Orleans, Chicago,
and Austin, along with Baltimore, Washington, D.C., New York,
Philadelphia, Boston, Richmond, and Pittsburgh.

Events will include shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
nights at the Charm City Comedy Project, currently in residence in
Hampden in the Lou Costello Room upstairs at Zissimos Bar (1023 W 36th Street, Baltimore, MD 21211), and shows on Friday and Saturday nights at Gallery788 (3602 Hickory Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211).

Improv and sketch workshops will be held on Saturday, May 2nd and
Sunday, May 3rd at Zissimos Bar and Gallery 788, and will be taught by
prominent and nationally recognized instructors – Chris Trew, Vanessa
Gonzalez, and Mike Spara of The New Movement in New Orleans and Austin, Dana Quercioli of The Second City Chicago, iO Chicago, and The Annoyance Theatre, Kelly Buttermore, Justin Peters, and Amie Roe of Magnet Theater, and Kristen Schier of Philadelphia Improv Theater.

We will no longer hold the Charm City Comedy Festival in future, due to Covid-19 and issues with the venue. If you were accepted into the 2020 fest, we apologize for the inconvenience.
