About San Diego Improv Festival 2017

Everyone wants someone that listens, agrees, supports and plays with you, right? Which is why we all do it...for the love of improv.

Sunset strolls on the beach with 70 degree weather and palm trees swaying gently in the wind?
Poolside brunch or late night movies under the stars?
Historic landmark hotel that will help you "date up"?
Hundreds of foxy funny fellas and daring dames?
Short stumble down dimly lit hallways to go from the stage to your room?

If you answered Yes! And . . . to these questions than submit your team to the 2017 San Diego Improv Festival.

Submission period is through August 1 through October 15th ($30).


We are seeking submissions of all types of improv. We would love to get experimental... musical improv, clown, whatever you got show it to us. Shows will be Thursday, Friday,  
Saturday, and Sunday evenings with workshops throughout.

Shows will be programmed by a mix of juried selections and lottery.  Inspired by Fringe Festivals, we are holding 25% of our show spots for teams that will be invited via non-juried lottery!  We're swiping right randomly for some one night stands 😉

We are attached to an amazing hotel and for the festival you can get special rates by name dropping the San Diego Improv Fest.  We are bringing back the ever so popular pool party so bring your bathing suit to work on your tan!

Hosted by Finest City Improv, a 60 seat theatre with full bar, food, and training center on site at the historic Lafayette Hotel in the uber hip North Park neighborhood of America's Finest City.

Past performers have included Robot Teammate and The Accidental Party(SDIF best of fest 2016)The Boys (Chicago) Fancy Boys (Los Angeles) Red Door (LA, SDIF Best of Fest 2015), Mr. Beaver (Chicago), From Justin to Kelly (New York), Dummy (LA), and many more!

The San Diego Improv Festival is operated by Finest City Improv.  Finest City Improv was founded by Amy Lisewski in 2011 as a way to entertain, inspire and bring joy and laughter to the community of San Diego. From performers, to students, to loyal fans, and first time visitors, we promise a playful and return-worthy experience with our commitment to sharing, teaching and connecting people with laughter.

Performances are every Thursday through Sunday in our cabaret theater in the North Park area of San Diego. Classes are available for all levels of improv students and instructed by an experienced teaching staff. Our corporate workshops help teams of all sizes collaborate more creatively and effectively, resulting in aa more engaged workforce and a better bottom line.
