Hannah's Info

Hannah Wydeven has been teaching improv in Minneapolis and around the country since 2011. She is a regular performer at HUGE Theater, and a featured performer in The Shrieking Harpies, Mayhem Improv and KINGS. As a teacher, she specializes in musical improv, narrative improv and personal diagnostics.

Hannah runs the Musical Improv program in Minneapolis and has built the curriculum for and teaches levels 101 through 401. She is also a teacher at HUGE Theater and is responsible for creating and building the Women-Trans-Femme-Nonbinary improv program there. She is also a leadership team member and founder of FairPlay MN, an organization that fights for equity on stages for WTFNB comedians.

As a teacher she is conscious of student boundaries and actively builds a safe and trusting environment, even in a short workshop. As part of her work with FairPlay, Hannah has written and taught a workshop on boundaries in improv that she has taught across the country in theaters like the PIT NYC and at festivals like Femproviser Fest in San Francisco.

Workshops that Hannah has taught at festivals previously:
- Characters in 3D: learning the who, what and why of you
- The Story Circle: simple steps to creating an improvised narrative
- Musical Improv 101
- Boundaries to create Safe Spaces for Improvisers and Teachers
- Organic Improv: using organic techniques to connect with your scene partners

"Hannah provided content that is not otherwise found and in such an authentic and accessible way. She pushes us in a way that challenges us and remains respectful while doing it. That's such a difficult balance to strike and I commend her for that." - Improv Student

"Hannah was a great teacher - amazing model of self reflection and confidence, skilled at addressing and giving feedback to many different improv styles." - Improv Student
