Rob's Info

Rob graduated with a BA degree in Live Performance (Drama) from AFDA, Cape Town in 2007. After attending an Improv course run by British/South African Improv teacher Jason Delplanque in 2011, Rob was bitten by the Improv bug and fell in love with the art form. Rob and Jason then formed The Long Shots, an improvised comedy troupe in Cape Town. Focusing first on Short Form Improv then delving deep into Long Form Improv. The Long Shots perform a variety of Long Form and Short Form at their various regular shows in Cape Town.

Rob teaches Improv at The Long Shots regular drop-in class every Thursday night. Rob also teaches Improv at ACT Cape Town to 1st and 3rd year Acting students. He is the mentor of the 3rd year troupe The Coffee Breaks.

Rob is very passionate about performing and teaching Improv. His goal is to create an Improv scene in Cape Town similar to that in Chicago and New York.

Rob acted in Starz's hit show Black Sails, had a small cameo in the film about Nelson Mandela 'A Long Walk to Freedom' and portrayed the title role of upcoming film The Empty Man produced by 20th Century Fox.

Rob will be travelling to Chicago and New York in August 2017 to do study various Improv courses and watch as much Improv as he possibly can. He would love to meet as many improvisers as he can whilst in the US.
