That Which isn't Said

We've all been told that listening is everything in improv. Why? Because listening is everything in improv! But simply hearing the words is not enough. The real truth of your scenes is hidden in between the lines, in the subtext, in the silence. It's in That Which isn't Said. In this workshop, we will learn to "listen" to That Which isn't Said. We'll work on moving past our inner-narratives and improvise in the present moment. You'll be given tools to: • Learn mindfulness so you can participate attentively with your scene partners. • Practice empathy in order to be genuinely affected and give significance to choices. • Use intuition to draw out and interpret information beyond dialogue; like body language, eye contact, proximity, tone, and energy.
