Group Mind

Most improv scenes are performed by two improvisers. What happens if a third is added? What if there are seven improvisers in one scene? In larger scenes, it's easy to fall into chaos. Players talk over each other, push the scene in different directions, and ultimately create a narrative that is barely coherent. In this intermediate class students will learn how to navigate scenes with three or more players, cultivating superior listening abilities, agreeing with specificity, and synchronizing with the group. Students will survey character matching, three-person scenes, split scenes, and group games. Available in Parts 1 & 2
