The Harold

The Harold is often regarded as the most renowned and challenging improv format where improvisers attempt to create a three-act play. Each act in a Harold is called a “beat,” and each beat contains three scenes. Between beats are interludes called "group games." They are performed by the entire ensemble. In this advanced class, students will learn how to create strong base realities with fertile characters, themes, and narratives to call back in subsequent scenes. Special emphasis will be placed on unifying the ensemble, playing patterns and looking for interesting connections between disparate scenes to create one cohesive performance. Available in Parts 1 & 2
