About Alaska State Improv Festival

NOTE: The Alaska State Improv Festival is currently inactive. Efforts are being made to focus on the local community to expand our human capacity. Future festivals will depend on the outcome of these efforts.

The Alaska State Improv Festival was first held in 2013, with the intention of promoting Alaskan improvisation, providing world-class instruction, and exposing our audiences to the breadth of creativity that the greater improv community has to offer.

In 2017, AS IF attracted nearly 90 improvisors from three continents to perform over five days. Our dedication to providing comfortable and attractive venues, fun social activities, and opportunities to realize The Alaska Experience make AS IF one of the great "destination festivals."

To learn more about how AS IF selects ensembles, please read The Rubric.
